Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih (PKK) was founded in 1994 to empower marginalized and less fortunate communities especially their little children to help improve their quality of life with good socio-economic programs. PKK stands as a corporate citizen to be in line with our government’s vision to help achieve the status of a high income nation.
As an affiliate member of Majlis Kebajikan Masyarakat, Selangor, PKK provided a comprehensive and coordinated social welfare package on educational and motivational programs for many years for the deserving children from the various charity homes. Among others, some of the empowering programs included enhancing their basic education, morale, self-confidence, and emotional support which are vital for the development of children.
Many other empowering and beneficial outreach projects were also organised for children from the Orang Asli community as well as for the urban and rural poor in order to provide them with opportunities to aspire and triumph against all odds and challenges they face.
In 2006, Rumah Kasih (Girl’s Home) was formally established as a charity home dedicated solely for the advancement of deserving children at No. 8 SS 3/92 Petaling Jaya, 47300 Selangor. Rumah Kasih is a non-profit project of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih and currently supports 16 students between the ages of 7-17 years. Our primary objective is to provide them with a conducive environment evolving love, care and support and to enhance their educational and moral values.
Trained staff, caregivers and volunteers attend to the daily needs of these children to offer them live changing opportunities and help them become responsible adults.
Among others, at Rumah Kasih, we focus on education because it is proven to be one of the most important factors to transform lives and break the circle of poverty. We strictly emphasise that education for girls is particularly important to enable them to support themselves in the future.
In 2008, PKK further extended its mission to set up a Pusat Latihan Rakyat Kasih at No. 26-1, Jalan PJS 5/2, Taman Desaria, Petaling Jaya to help empower marginalized communities to shape their own future by sponsoring and providing school children, youth, young adults and single mothers with socio-economic opportunities. Among others, the program includes facial make-up and beautician course; sewing and tailoring class, computer lessons and tuition classes in various subjects for students, youths and others to help them improve their living standards and provide them with better opportunities. .
Tutors are engaged to provide weekend courses for these young women and students to help them improve their status and acquire skills in these courses. This would help empower them with self-confidence and provide options for a better livelihood.
The society raises funds solely in support of its mission and to consistently engage with the community for assistance as well as to generate awareness. This is done through individuals, corporate organisations and occasionally special fundraisers.
In doing all these, the committee takes personal responsibility for using its resources efficiently, achieving measurable results, and being accountable to individuals, corporate partners and most of all the children entrusted to us.
Your generous support will help us to improve the care for these children and young adults. It would further help to generate positive exposure for your employees to make a difference in their life.
We invite individuals, groups and organisations to be a corporate partner of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih and together we make an impact on their lives. Your assistance can include sponsoring some of our main monthly expenditure items such as rent for the home or support for a child / children on a yearly basis or even a donation to the Children’s Fund.
The operating needs of Rumah Kasih and the Pusat Latihan Rakyat Kasih amounts to approximately RM16,500/- a month.
PKK is managed by an Executive Committee that is elected every two years. Members of the Society and volunteers offer their time and efforts to help in the various programs.
With an annual operating budget of RM 180,000.00, our resources, both financially and human capital, are strained. Resources are needed to run the Skill Training Centre and Rumah Kasih (Kasih Home). Both these Centres are open to welcome many of these afflicted children. We have been striving very hard and making every effort to raise funds. If you wish to donate in kind or render your services, please visit our Contact Us page for details.

PKK presented a comprehensive report on its two outreach programs.
It was a unique gathering of like-minded friends and well-wishers who had generously supported our charity home Rumah Kasih to help the children from poor families with accommodation and basic education. Some 650 guests attended the dinner show on 8 July 2017 at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall themed ‘Support A Child and Make A Difference'.
ABOUT RM40,000 was raised for Rumah Kasih in a charity golf championship at the Nilai Springs Golf and Country Club recently.
The golf event was organised by Kasih Welfare Association (PKK), a community service organisation managing the Rumah Kasih. Located at SS3 Petaling Jaya, Rumah Kasih provides shelter, education and financial aid to 18 girls aged between six and 17.

Tetra Pak employees took time off from work to spend time with the children from Philea Home, Rumah KIDS and Rumah Kasih in challenging games including Fruit Tower Stacking, Flip, Flap and Flat Relay and a Used Beverage Carton Hunt.
Twelve years since PKK’s formation, it was discovered that there are many poor and destitute children who are deprived of proper schooling, mainly due to poverty, lack of responsibility on the part of parents and other social issues. In the year 2006, Rumah Kasih (Kasih Home) was established; catering for their education, providing daily sustenance and other basic amenities. Currently, there are 19 children whose ages range from 5 to 17 years.
Whilst carrying out activities in poverty stricken areas, we discovered many single mothers earning monthly incomes of less than Ringgit Malaysia (RM) 700.00! Some have husbands who are either in jail, are drug addicts or had been simply deserted them.
In the year 2008, a skills training centre; Pusat Latihan Rakyat Kasih (Kasih Skills Training Centre) was opened. Situated in the vicinity of low cost flats in Desa Mentari, Petaling Jaya, we are currently conducting computer, bridal and tailoring classes.
