Rumah Kasih was made one of the main beneficiaries for The St Patrick’s of Selangor Charity Auction held on 13 May 2017 at Damansara Heights. It was a glamourous night of food and drinks with off-track betting on horse raising for the Irish community and their guests to help raise funds for the charity home managed by Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih (PKK). Commendably, RM91,000 was raised during the 4 hours gathering where some 70 Irish people and their guests attended the fundraiser.
The Adopt-a-Child program organised by Tetra Pak Sports Club was a commendable charity initiative by the staff and their families. Their objective was to give back to charity by bringing a smile to disadvantaged children and to change the course of their lives. On 1 July 2017, the staff and their families assembled at Rumah Kasih in the morning for some snacks with the children before accompanying them to Petrosains at KLCC. The visit to the Discovery Centre for the children was educational and fun as it was their first experience there.
PETALING JAYA, Oct 16 — Deepavali for 27 poor and single mothers and their families is set to be brighter and happy one this year.
As the families received their monthly groceries through the Damansara Heights Rotary Club’s Kitchen Bundle project yesterday, they also got some “extras” with their cooking oil, rice, vegetables and other essentials.
PKK presented a comprehensive report on its two outreach programs. (i) Rumah Kasih which supports 14 school going children from poor families with accommodation and basic education to help them improve their quality of life. (ii) Pusat Latihan Rakyat Kasih helps to empower the school children, youth, young adults and single mothers from the marginalised and disadvantaged communities with socio-economic opportunities. Among others, programs conducted includes facial make-up and beautician course, sewing and tailoring, computer lessons and tuition classes.
LIFE has taken a turn for the better for accident victim Michael Sauri, when he was carried up to a newly-refurbished flat in Taman Desaria, PJS 5, where his wife and children were waiting with well-wishers from Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih (PKK).
According to PKK President Peter A. Dass, RM38,850 was raised by PKK members and the IJM Sports Club, as well as from anonymous and public donations after the article was published.
DKSH MALAYSIA, part of the global DKSH Group, received more response for its second DKSH Fantree Club Charity Run, and succeeded in raising RM35,000 for worthy causes
ABOUT 110 participants took part in the Rumah Kasih Charity Golf championships at the Nilai Springs Golf and Country Club recently.
A total RM30,000 was raised through the event organised by Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih (PKK),a community service organisation managing Rumah Kasih in SS3, Petaling Jaya.
