OUR HISTORY

In September 1993, a group of close friends from the Peel Road / Cochrane Road area (which connects Jalan Cheras and Jalan Pudu) whose careers have ‘settled down’ met officially to discuss among other outreach community programs, the formation of a caring society.

The idea was first conceived by T. R. Benedict (now Dato’ T. R. Benedict) who convinced his friends that the poor and marginalised families particularly those from the disadvantaged communities can be helped through a registered caring society. He reminded his business friends and contemporaries that they should reach beyond business thoughts and address the deplorable plight of the impoverished families who need help.

Thus the formation of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih (PKK) was made the priority agenda when the group met often. They took the personal initiative to organise small community projects for the underprivileged and poor people to improve their quality
of life.

PKK was registered with the initial objective was to provide financial aid, basic necessities and moral support to the families in the disadvantaged communities, thus focussing more on their children.

Today the society has progressed beyond the founding members’ imagination to be blessed with a charity home for girls and a soft skill training centre to help empower marginalised ommunities to shape their own future with socio-economic opportunities.

A protem committee was formed while waiting for the society’s registration.
